Ein lateinisches Palindrom ist der Titel von Guy Debord ' s letzten film, in denen er als Erzähler erklärt, dass er keine Zugeständnisse an den Geschmack seiner Zuschauer, noch der herrschenden Ideen seiner Zeit. Nachdem ausgiebig beleidigen das Publikum, das ins Kino geht, um zu vergessen, seine fremdbestimmtes Leben, wird der film auch autobiografische, mit Bildern aus der Welt des Spektakels: Werbung, Prospekte, Ausschnitte aus Spielfilmen (Les enfants du paradis), comics, aerial footage von Paris, Kamerafahrten durch Venedig, Fotos von Freunden - alle kommentiert von Debord, mit den mal melancholischen Unterton: "Dieses Paris existiert nicht mehr." Seine Einschätzung ist, dass eine der großen Freuden seines Lebens wurde die sensation, die im Laufe der Zeit, und als Zeuge der Zerfall der sozialen Ordnung, er hat geliebt, seine Epoche.
