1965, drei Jahre vor der Veröffentlichung von George A. Romeros die Nacht der Lebenden Toten, in Tucumán, Direktor Ofelio Linares Montt shot Zombies in der Zuckerrohr-Feld, ein horror-film mit starken politischen Allegorien. Der film eröffnet in den USA ein großer Erfolg, aber wenn es Zeit war, für seine Argentinische Version, in der Mitte von Onganía-regime, ging nach Süden, und alle Spuren der film verloren war. Folgende Luciano Saracino, ein Schriftsteller auf der Suche nach dem film original-Drehbuch, Schembri Dokumentarfilm erforscht die Schritte dieses verfluchte classic, mit ein paar überlebenden Bilder und Zeugnisse der Kritiker, Filmemacher und das Geliebte Isabel Sarli. Am Ende, eine Idee beschworen wird: gibt es zu viele "Zufälle" zwischen Linares Montt und George A. Romero ' s Filme?
