„Das Konzert, das die Beatles zerstörte: Toronto 1969" beleuchtet die erstaunlichen Hintergründe eines heute fast vergessenen Festivals, das die Musikgeschichte auf den Kopf gestellt hat. Der junge Konzertveranstalter John Brower riskierte sein Leben, um das Toronto Rock and Roll Revival zu einem unvergesslichen Festival zu machen. Sein Ziel war es, dass Chronisten das Festival später als „zweitwichtigstes Ereignis in der Geschichte des Rock ‚n' Roll" bezeichnen. Das Festival holte 1969 fast sämtliche Pioniere des Rock ‚n' Roll auf eine Bühne. Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley und Gene Vincent waren ebenso vertreten wie die zum damaligen Zeitpunkt wohl erfolgreichste Rockband: The Doors. Doch erst als John Lennon und die Plastic Ono Band in letzter Minute ihre Teilnahme zusagten, sollte das Festival Musikgeschichte schreiben.
